About Us 

The Honey Centre is located in the lush, green New Zealand countryside near Warkworth, New Zealand.  It is a 40-minute drive north of Auckland and a worthwhile & entertaining trip for the whole family. 

The business was started in 1992 by the Fountains, a local beekeeping family. At first, the aim was to provide a local tourist attraction that would be suitable for families and the public. Eventually the business grew in size, adding the Honey Café and the Honey Mead and Fruit Wine Shop.  As the business continues to grow we strive to maintain our family-friendly atmosphere, and keep producing the high quality of honey that keeps the public coming back for more. 

The Honey Centre boasts New Zealand's largest display of live bees, and a huge range of honeys are available for tasting.  A wide range of honey-related skincare products, ointments, and giftware are also available for purchase. Our friendly staff is happy to teach the public about honeybees and their products.  We stock a full range of beekeeping equipment for the hobbyist beekeeper, run a beekeeping course for beginners, and have professional beekeepers on staff for consultation.

We believe that New Zealand honey is the best in the world,
and that ours is the best in New Zealand.
